Most people have an addiction to things. For some, it's drugs, or alcohol. For some, it's expensive toys, and vintage clothing. For others, its things like food, or a favorite television show or movie. They say the first step to controlling your addiction is admitting it. That is what I am doing today. I am admitting I have an addiction to smell. I find it to be a great addiction though, and I thank God for my sense of smell.
Since I was a kid, I have always smelled everything in sight. I would touch things and smell my fingers. I would smell the dish detergent before washing the dishes. My mom purchased candles, but she would not burn them. You could always find me someplace just sniffing away. I bet she thought I was crazy. I spend more time than a normal person in stores when it's time to replace deodorant or body spray. I sometimes have to get help from my wife because when I smell each one, I can think of a situation. One could be a wrong mix with my current cologne, and another could be too sweet, or just the wrong smell for a guy.
I have a bottle of Armani cologne that I just love. The problem is, I have only had it since Father’s Day 2010, and it’s almost gone. I smelled it today when I noticed how much was left when I held it up to the light. I love to smell good. Not for others, but just for myself. I also love a great smelling home. If you lived in my home, you would constantly see me spray something, even if candles are burning. There is always a different candle scent in each room. Sometimes I’d get an idea for a new fragrance just walking from one room, to the next.
You might think I’m crazy, but I think I have an amazing addiction. Without this addiction, this company would not exist. Without this addiction, I wouldn’t be able to fill so many homes with wonderful smelling products to feed their addictions.
My name is Cornelius, and I’m an addict.
What do you think about my addiction? Feel free to email me, and let me know.
Until Next Time….
